Ever since our YWAM DTS in 2008 (in Canada) we had the desire to serve other families with our family. God blessed us with a relatively healthy family. We can be a safe place for our children. Yet, all around us families are falling apart. We witness the break down of the traditional family every day. Divorce, death, alcoholism, drugs, (sexual) abuse...

South Africa is no exception. The need for healthy families is huge.
Only 35% of the kids live with both their biological parents.
23% of the kids lives with NONE of their biological parents.
AIDS obviously plays a big part in these statistics, but it is not the only cause! Most of the South African children have been abandoned by one or both of their parents, because the parent(s) chose to leave their family!!

September 2009 was a big step for us as a family. We decided to move from the Netherlands to South Africa. We came to Worcester (1,5 hours drive from Cape Town) to work out the desire God gave us. After we did the Family Ministry School in the beginning of 2010, we started working in the community. Serving the families in need, churches and schools in Worcester.

Our dream is to create a safe place where we can receive families to support them, train them and send them out again. A place where families can escape their stressful situations and focus for a period of time on their family relationships.
